More fun activities to teach the letter X
1. Make an x-ray picture: Trace your child’s hand on a piece of black construction paper. Then, have them glue white beads onto the paper to create the bones in their hand.
2. Play “I Spy” with things that start with the letter X: This classic game is a great way to help your child identify objects that start with the letter X.
3. Make an “X” out of play dough: This is a great activity for working on fine motor skills. Have your child roll two pieces of play dough into snakes. Then, have them cross the snakes in the middle to form an “X”.
4. Go on a letter X scavenger hunt: Write down a list of things that start with the letter X (e.g. x-ray, xylophone, etc.). Then, see if your child can find all of the items on the list.
5. Trace letter X’s in sand or salt: This is a great way to help your child practice writing the letter X. Simply trace the letter X in sand or salt and have your child trace it as well.
Use magazines to make a letter x craft by having your child cut out all of the letter x they see.
Use coloring pages to color objects that begin or end with the letter x.

Letter X Crafts:
1. Make an “X” out of popsicle sticks: This craft is really easy and only requires a few supplies. Simply glue two popsicle sticks together in the shape of an “X”.
2. Paint with cotton balls: This is a great sensory activity to add to your preschool lessons. Simply dip cotton balls in paint and let your child use them to make patterns on a piece of paper.
Your child can paint objects that begin with the letter x, or or make the lowercase x in different colors.
3. Make an “X” out of cardboard: This is a great craft for recycling materials. An adult can cut an “X” shape out of a piece of cardboard and have your child decorate it however they like.
4. Make “X” shaped crayons: This is a great activity for using up old crayons. An adult can simply melt crayons in an “X” shape mold and let them cool.
5. Draw an “X” with chalk: This is a great activity for getting outdoors. Simply draw an “X” on the ground with chalk and have your child hop or jump from letter to letter.
